I was speechless when I saw a post about his demise, but I picked some lessons from him.
Like any other Saturday, I ensured that after concluding the show at Q FM where I was featured as a Guest the rest of the day needed to be fulfilled in meaningful activities.
Blessing Banda had just extended an invitation to me to attend the 30 under 30 mentorship class under Possibility Practitioners founded by Sir Lloyd Mwiinga. On the 15th of October last year I walked into this room filled with opportunities with an intent to gain knowledge and social capital. To be honest, I had no clue about the guest speakers at that event, not even Drug Enforcement Commission came to mind.
While enjoying the presentations by my fellow youths who were business minded. I saw a familiar face of a great man being moved into a wheelchair. In my mind words were ringing “Kapene ni lelo”, yes, I was correct I saw Galamukani. It was not by coincidence that it happened that day, but God had made it that way he said.
Speak of a man whose sense of humor was natural even on serious matters, yes it was Mr. Felix Banda. After Aaron Mondoka summed up his PowerPoint Presentation with a quote “We do things so that we can be consistent with what we do” Sir Curtis went on to introduce the Child of the Light.
Godly mate selection
But before I begin ensure you pick the right partner who is loving and God-fearing because he or she will look after you even in the most difficult times. My wife has proved that to me.
I have 4 things to share with you today write them down said Galamukani.
“You are sufficient in your individual capacity you the Grace,” he said.
1. 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩
Being nice to people starts with an ordinary greeting which puts a smile on the face of people.
Sometimes you may not know that your positive approach towards them can turn your life into something that you didn`t expect in the future.
Develop meaningful networks by investing in people with knowledge for free without expecting anything in return.
Opportunities come unannounced as they are found just within those you are doubting. You may not know who will recommend your name by being good to them in your direct or indirect interactions either at work or in a school environment.
“Know the guy who knows the guys if you don`t know everybody the way to the top is way tough.”
2. 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙀𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙘
Excellent work culture is key.
You need to work extra hard you succeed “Tafisa fye nga ameno yamu kanwa”.
Whatever your hands find to do, do it diligently.”
Don’t make excuses for not completing your task always strive to do your best by meeting targets.
Always keep a good attitude even when work gets tough.
3. Personal Financial Management
Money must be a seed: Give it time to grow in other areas that will allow it to circulate easily (Circular Income Utilisation).
Control eating habits.
Be strategic with clothing purchases than be moved with what is trending on the market.
4. 𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙮
Whatever I have achieved in my life it is because of the Grace of God (paraphrased).
“Everyone in here will succeed either that time I will be around or not,
“Let`s meet at the top” he concluded.
When Sir Chibamba Kanyama shared with the nation at Africa must think conference in 2021 that the father of Zambian Motivational Speaking was in a critical medical condition I felt broken and prayed for his good health. This was a man whom I grew up watching on TV before social media evolved.
He was blessed with excellence, and I didn’t have an idea that one day I would sit listening to him speaking at Radisson Blu Hotel. I agree that his success wasn’t just a walkover but an act of persistence and determination. He was willing to share his knowledge and transform a generation of wealthy entrepreneurs. Indeed, we don’t “Just Become”.
The love you poured into our generation will never be forgotten may your blessed soul rest in eternal peace in the Lord COL Galamukani.
The late Felix Banda alias Galamukani was born on 17th May 1973 and died on 24th January 2023.
He was an Author, Mathematics Teacher, Motivational Speaker, Business Consult, and Father of 3 beautiful daughters.
