INNOVATION SHOULD NEVER RUIN US
The evolution of technology made me think a lot about the future of media around the globe.
Now that we have social media where anyone can share information via a page, it is more critical to verify the authenticity of the information being shared with an average reader.
In a twinkling of an eye, Artificial Intelligence has gained popularity even in academic circles and the digital journalism space. This is making student reporters find comfort in laxity by abusing these tools that should supplement their efforts when needed.
AI will compromise digital storytelling and photojournalism especially if journalists don't acquaint themselves with tools that can help verify information quicker.
Fact-checking tools require more investment than ever because netizen journalism will tear apart society.
Passionate professional storytellers are fighting for the audience following but this can only be achieved if they thrive in understanding how free speech online applies different dynamics to enhance engagement and reach through short creative leads, reels, live broadcasts, eye-catching pictures, and so on.
Information sharing has improved but traditional media has to catch up with trends and that doesn't mean that the role of media in building a well-informed society should be suppressed.
Living in an error of social media influences and content creators and the impact of their influence must be scrutinized in that even children are part and parcel of the users of these communication platforms.
Therefore, digital media literacy skills are essential because a lot is happening in cyberspace that may cause disharmony through hate speech, bullying, and propaganda if not well managed.

Let's give people the chance to express their voice even through podcasts unlike just focusing on celebrities while ignoring real matters affecting society at the expense of upholding the true values of democracy.
